China Scholarship 2026: The Complete Guide for Nigerian Students

• University and Presidential scholarships, funded by the universities themselves. These often cover tuition and accommodation, sometimes with a stipend.
• Provincial scholarships offered by cities and provinces such as Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai to attract international students.
• Confucius Institute scholarships for Chinese language and teaching programmes.
• Belt and Road scholarships aimed at students from partner countries, Nigeria included.

Do you qualify

The exact rules shift a little between schemes, but the core is steady. For a Master’s you will normally need:

• A completed Bachelor’s degree, or to be in your final year.
• To be under the usual age limit, which is 35 for most Master’s awards.
• Reasonable results. A Second Class Upper is competitive, though people with a Lower credit still win.
• Proof of English for programmes taught in English, through IELTS, TOEFL or a letter from your university confirming the language of instruction.
• A clean medical and police record.
• Two reference letters from lecturers or employers.

Documents to prepare

Getting your paperwork right is where most people who apply alone come undone. Start early, and we check every document before it goes anywhere.

• An international passport valid for at least two years.
• Your degree certificate and full transcripts.

Pay Small Small, spread your fees

You do not have to pay the big fees in one lump. Both the admission fee and our service fee can be spread out, so money is never the reason you miss your chance.

Pay Small Small is built into your portal. When you reach the admission step, you switch it on and pay the $1,000 admission fee in portions of 25, 50 or 75 percent, or the full amount, whenever the money is ready. You can spread it across up to four payments in all. A small commission applies only if you split it, and only once the fee is fully settled. Pay it in one go and there is nothing extra.

For example, split the $1,000 admission fee into three payments and the commission is 7.5 percent, which is $75, added once at the end. The $500 service fee is flexible in the same spirit. Timeline and key dates

Most awards are for the September intake, and the work starts a full year ahead. The earlier you begin, the stronger your file, and the more schools you can reach before the doors close.

• September to November. Profiling, documents and the study plan. We work through this with you.
• November to January. Applications go in. This is the main admission period.
• January to April. Admission letters and scholarship awards arrive.
• April to July. Visa processing and getting you ready to travel.
